Welcome To The Korean Martial Arts Federation™
1st Degree Black Belt Weapons Program

The Korean Martial Arts Federation™ was founded by Grand Master James S. Benko (see biography) . Grand Master Benko began studying the martial arts in 1959. He has provided KMAF members with guidance from his several decades of martial arts and military experience.

When your Tuition fee has been paid in full and you have been admitted to the program, you will receive the following:

  1. 1st Degree Weapons Program Guide
  2. DVDs featuring the requirements for this program
  3. Your KMAF Membership Card
If using the online order form select "1st Degree Black Belt Weapons Program", under the section titled "Program you wish to enroll in". The tuition fee and testing fees can be found on the application.

You may film the requirements in sections and keep them until you have everything needed to complete the level you are studying, or you may choose to send in all four levels at once. You may also, if you wish, set up a YouTube channel and contact us when your requirements have been down loaded to your channel so they can be reviewed.

A former Green Beret who served 3 combat tours in Viet Nam, Grandmaster Benko brings you these programs he has created, which may be used by those who wish to continue their advanced studies of Korean martial arts weapons.

These videos contain requirements for Korean Martial Arts Federation™ (KMAF) certification in korean weapons art of Han Kuk Mu Ki Do™.


KMAF KOREAN WEAPONS: 1st DEGREE BLACK BELT PROGRAM
(You must hold the rank of at least 1st Degree Black Belt in the martial arts to enroll in this program)

There are 4 Levels in this Program:

Upon enrollment in the Program you shall receive the following:
  • 1st Degree Weapons Program Guide
  • KMAF DVDs for this program
  • Your KMAF Membership Card
Upon completion of all 4 Levels, of the “1st Degree Program”, you will be awarded your KMAF
1st Degree Black Belt Certificate in Korean Weapons (Han Kuk Mu Ki Do™).

To Complete This Level You Must Demonstrate the following:


1st Degree Black Belt Korean Weapons - Level 102:
Requirements may be found on DVD-138: Jang Bong Hyungs (Patterns)

To Complete This Level You Must Demonstrate the following:
  • Question And Response Sequence for all 3 Patterns
  • Pattern Won Kang - Front, Side And Close Views
  • Pattern Won Kang - With Applications
  • Pattern Kwan Chang - Front, Side And Close Views
  • Pattern Kwan Chang - With Applications
  • Pattern Jong Jo - Front, Side And Close Views
  • Pattern Jong Jo - With Applications

1st Degree Black Belt Korean Weapons - Level 103:
Requirements may be found on DVD-139: Jang Bong Sparring Volume 1 (Long Staff vs Long Staff)

To Complete This Level You Must Demonstrate the following
Long Staff Defenses Against Long Staff Attacks:
  • Defenses Against Single Strikes
  • Defenses Against Multiple Strikes
  • Defenses Against A High Section Inward Attack
  • Defenses Against A MIddle Section Inward Attack
  • Defenses Against A Low Section Inward Attack
  • Defenses Against An Upward Attack
  • Defenses Against A Downward Attack
  • Defenses Against A Downward 45 Degrees Attack
  • Defenses Against A Middle Section Thrust
  • Defenses Against A High Section Thrust

1st Degree Black Belt Korean Weapons - Level 104:
Requirements may be found on DVD-143: Jang Bong Sparring Volume 2 (Long Staff vs Sword)

To Complete This Level You Must Demonstrate the following
Long Staff Defenses Against Sword Attacks:
  • Defenses Against A High Inward Cut
  • Defenses Against A High Outward Cut
  • Defenses Against A Middle Inward Cut
  • Defenses Against A MIddle Outward Cut
  • Defenses Against A Low Inward Cut
  • Defenses Against A Low Outward Cut
  • Defenses Against An Upward Cut
  • Defenses Against A Downward Cut
  • Defenses Against A Middle Section Thrust
  • Defenses Against A Downward To The Left Cut
  • Defenses Against A Downward To The Right Cut
