Welcome To The Korean Martial Arts Federation™
6th Degree Black Belt Weapons Program

The Korean Martial Arts Federation™ was founded by Grand Master James S. Benko (see biography) . Grand Master Benko began studying the martial arts in 1959. He has provided KMAF members with guidance from his several decades of martial arts and military experience.

When your Tuition fee has been paid in full and you have been admitted to the program, you will receive the following:

  1. 6th Degree Weapons Program Guide
  2. DVDs featuring the requirements for this program
  3. Your KMAF Membership Card
If using the online order form select "6th Degree Black Belt Weapons Program", under the section titled "Program you wish to enroll in". The tuition fee and testing fees can be found on the application.

You may film the requirements in sections and keep them until you have everything needed to complete the level you are studying, or you may choose to send in all four levels at once. You may also, if you wish, set up a YouTube channel and contact us when your requirements have been down loaded to your channel so they can be reviewed.

A former Green Beret who served 3 combat tours in Viet Nam, Grandmaster Benko brings you these programs he has created, which may be used by those who wish to continue their advanced studies of Korean martial arts weapons.

These videos contain requirements for Korean Martial Arts Federation™ (KMAF) certification in korean weapons art of Han Kuk Mu Ki Do™.


KMAF KOREAN WEAPONS: 6th DEGREE BLACK BELT PROGRAM
(You must have completed the KMAF 5th Degree Black Belt Weapons Program in order to enroll in this program)

There are 4 Levels in this Program:

Upon enrollment in the Program you shall receive the following:
  • 6th Degree Weapons Program Guide
  • KMAF DVDs for this program
  • Your KMAF Membership Card
Upon completion of all 4 Levels, of the “6th Degree Program”, you will be awarded your KMAF
6th Degree Black Belt Certificate in Korean Weapons (Han Kuk Mu Ki Do™).

6th Degree Black Belt Korean Weapons - Level 601:
Requirements may be found on DVD-125: Jang Tan-Do (Long Daggers).

To Complete This Level You Must Demonstrate the following:


6th Degree Black Belt Korean Weapons - Level 602:
Requirements may be found on DVD-133: Jang Tan-Do Hyungs (Long Daggers Patterns).

To Complete This Level You Must Demonstrate the following:
  • Anatomy of the Jang Tan-Do.
  • Pattern Cho Hon.
  • Pattern Cho Hon With Applications.
  • Pattern Won Jung.
  • Pattern Won Jung With Applications.
  • Pattern So-Mun.
  • Pattern So-Mun With Applications.

6th Degree Black Belt Korean Weapons - Level 603:
Requirements may be found on DVD-140: Jang Tan-Do Sparring 1 (Long Daggers vs Sword).

To Complete This Level You Must Demonstrate the following:
  • Defenses Against Horizontal Cuts.
  •     Defense Against High Inward Cut.
  •     Defense Against High Outward Cut.
  •     Defense Against Middle Inward Cut.
  •     Defense Against Middle Outward Cut.
  •     Defense Against Low Inward Cut.
  •     Defense Against Low Outward Cut.
  • Defenses Against Upward Cuts.
  • Defenses Against Downward Cuts.
  • Defenses Against 45 Degree Angle Cuts.
  •     Defense Against Downward 45 Degrees To The Left.
  •     Defense Against Downward 45 Degrees To The Right.
  • Defenses Against Thrusts.
  •     Defense Against Mid-Section Thrust.
  •     Defense Against High-Section Thrust.

6th Degree Black Belt Korean Weapons - Level 604:
Requirements may be found on DVD-141: Jang Tan-Do Sparring 2 (Long Daggers vs Long Staff).

To Complete This Level You Must Demonstrate the following:
  • Defenses Against High Strike To The Left Side Of Head.
  • Defenses Against High Strike To The Right Side Of Head.
  • Defenses Against Middle Strike To The Left Side.
  • Defenses Against Middle Strike To The Right Side.
  • Defenses Against Low Strike To The Left Leg.
  • Defenses Against Low Strike To The Right Leg.
  • Defenses Against An Upward Strike.
  • Defenses Against A Downward Strike.
  • Defenses Against A Mid-Section Thrust.
  • Defenses Against A Downward 45 Degrees To The Right Strike.
  • Defenses Against A Downward 45 Degrees To The Left Strike.
  • Defenses Against A High-Section Thrust.
